Body & Soul Wednesdays spring classes are here!
St. Luke’s United Methodist church has announced spring enrichment classes for Body & Soul Wednesdays. All classes will be held from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Sign up on-line or by using a the form found in the Body & Soul Wednesdays brochure located on the church office counter.
“We have worked to offer a little something for everyone this spring,” Kathrn Boren said. “We’re offering a wide variety of on-going activities as well, such as Faithweavers, games, youth Bible study and music.”
Favorite leaders Charlie Vetter and Larry Bailey will be returning, Melanie Nicholas is also teaching and Leah Gerhard is leading a fantastic Lenten craft.
Remember, meals are served in the Fellowship Hall from 5 to 6 p.m. for a cost of $5/person, $15/family. Childcare is available during Body & Soul Wednesday classes and activities.
ENRICHMENT STUDIES
The Shack – Larry Bailey will lead this four-week series of discussions about forgiveness and resolution. Primary resources will be the Bible and The Shack, by William Young, a story that has been read by many and has stimulated numerous discussions about the Holy Trinity, as well as about forgiveness.

The Ten Commandments – Dr. Laura goes deeply into how the 10 Commandments relate to each of us in our everyday life. Join Charlie Vetter in going beyond the easy part of the Commandments and heading right into the gray areas.

Invitation to the Old Testament – Larry Bailey will facilitate this eight-week Disciple Bible Study. This study explores major themes in the Old Testament and provides for both individual study and group reflection. Participant books will be available Sunday, Feb. 7.

Really Bad Girls of the Bible – This bestseller by Liz Curtis Higgs profiles many kinds of women found in the Bible. In fact, Higgs does such a remarkable job telling their stories that many of the Good Book’s “bad girls” become downright sympathetic. Learn more about characters like Jael, Bethsheba, Athaliah and others. Melanie Nicholas will lead this five-week study group as they explore and learn from these cautionary tales. Participant books will be available Sunday, Feb. 7.
