"Cornerstones of Hope"

Studies for 2006

Children of the Bible
By Rev. Linda Hollies, Stephanie and Maggie Biggs-Scribner, with study guide by Bishop Minerva Carcano
This spiritual growth study asks us to look at the Bible stories of the children of the Bible with honesty and bravery. We will look at the place of children in ancient times, and see how their lives are often much like the lives of children of today. We will be called to become like a child so that we too will enter into the kingdom of God where the hungry are fed, the prisoners are freed and the children are whole people in Jesus Christ.
   $7.00

Public Education:  Issues and Challenges
     By Mary Grace Lyman
This study will provide a biblical and theological basis to public education. It will explore root causes of the current crisis in public education, and examine the result of these causes on schools, children, teachers, and communities. It will enable the participants to develop and commit to action plans that enhance public education in their own communities.
   $7.50

India and Pakistan
By Glory Dharmaraj. Study guide by Diane Miller
This geographical study presents the richness and diversity of the cultures of India and Pakistan. It will explore key issues such as poverty, caste, religious extremism, and others. It will offer insight into the history of mission, and the diversity of mission growth and vitality. This study is an invitation to us to promote peace and harmony in a mission that is rooted locally, but whose wings are stretched across the globe.
   $7.50
