Outreach Ministries

The Outreach Council urges you to become involved in the ministries that convey the Gospel message in loving service to the City of Midland and to other cities and countries.

Current Outreach Ministries

A.M.O.S. Area Mission Outreach Services: Provides emergency food, clothing, budget counseling, and job referrals. The building is located at 908 S. Loraine, in Asbury United Methodist Church. AMOS is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to noon. The phone number is 687-2667. The house is located  at 908 S. Loraine, across the street from South Elementary School. Persons are frequently needed to stock the food pantry and clothes room. Food drives are conducted in June and November. Pledges of money are made on "Souper Bowl Sunday, in February." 

Blood Drives: in April and September Blood Drives are conducted in the Fellowship Hall. St. Luke's maintains an account, so that a member may apply credit to his account when he needs blood.

Missionaries: Bill and Jerri Savuto have now returned to Kenya. A Volunteer In Mission Team of 16 persons will leave September 6th to bring supplies and spend two weeks building on to Maua Methodist Hospital in Kenya. 

Christmas In Action: is a home repair project for low income older persons. We ask for members and friends to give one or two weekends in April to help with repairs to roofs, windows, doors, and minor plumbing. 

Meals on Wheels, Hospice of Midland, Safe Place. The need for persons to help with these important services is continuous. We invite you to contact the coordinators of these agencies and make your valuable contribution to the quality of life.
