SPIRIT WIND 2008
 Vocal & Instrumental Interviews

This year Spirit Wind will again
include interviews for instrumentalists (string, brass, wind, and percussion) in addition to vocalists. Ensembles will accompany the choir as well as perform instrumental pieces in the concert.

Spirit Wind is the official youth choir of the Northwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church open to those who have completed the 8th grade in the 2007-2008 school year through graduating seniors.

Those interviewing should prepare one musical selection to sing for the committee and will be asked to sight-read one piece. Instrumentalists will be mailed an interview piece upon receipt of registration form. We would prefer the solo not be accompanied with a cassette tape. We will have an accompanist available.

The young people selected for the choir and instrumentals will be notified and expected to attend spring rehearsal at St. Luke’s UMC in Midland, 6:30 PM March 7th through noon on Sunday the 9th. Spirit Wind will sing during both worship services. This is a most important rehearsal! Only persons with special permission from the director will be excused.

Spirit Wind 2008 dates are June 8th through June 22nd. Rehearsals begin on the 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Camp Butman, Merkel, Texas.
